A strong alliance

‘Photonics Germany – Photonik Deutschland’ is the alliance of SPECTARIS and OptecNet Deutschland.
It was established in 2020 with the goal of uniting forces to represent the interests of the high-tech industry at national and international level and to boost the innovative strength and competitiveness of companies and research institutions in Germany with coordinated activities and initiatives. In particular, the overall conditions for photonics and quantum technologies are to be further improved and funding offers are to be developed in a targeted way.

In 2020, the Photonics Association of SPECTARIS e.V. and the regional innovation networks Optical Technologies of Germany, which are united in OptecNet Deutschland e.V., have developed a cooperation agreement.

This cooperation will strengthen the importance of the German photonics industry on a regional, national and international level with appropriate lobbying and public relations work.

OptecNet Deutschland e.V. is the association of Germany’s regional optical technology innovation networks on a national level. Together, we support supra-regional and international activities such as international cooperation, technology transfer and innovation promotion, promotion of young talent and Germany-wide public relations work.

SPECTARIS is the German industry association for optics, photonics, analytical and medical technology based in Berlin. The association represents 450 predominantly medium-sized German companies. To ensure that the underlying key technologies can continue to be developed and produced in Germany, the SPECTARIS industry association advocates framework conditions that promote growth and innovation. It provides information on market developments, advises on regulatory and foreign trade issues, networks companies with business partners and politicians, and puts the most important industry issues on the public agenda.
